On August 10, William Pucs, founder of THiNG.FUND attended the Korean Blockchain Week and delivered a keynote speech during one of the side events. He introduced himself, THiNG.FUND, the Renas, Fusionist, and the ecosystem. Below is a recap. Hope you find it entertaining and informative. Enjoy:

Hello everyone, I’m William Pucs. Its a great pleasure to meet you all here. A brief intro about myself, I started my gaming career since 2000 from Wizards of the Coast, and for over 17 years working on the R&D of different games, including Magic the gathering, the №1 social game in China, Little War, and a couple of Roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, The Pathfinder, Trail of Cthulhu, Call of Cthulhu, The Witcher Series, etc. I also co-founded a NASDAQ listing company ConnGame.

I was enlightened by CryptoKitties and joined crypto in 2017. I started my crypto career in Bihu.com as a product leader, and designed its write-&-earn mechanism and token economy model. For more than 4 years, Bihu.com was the largest crypto content platform in China with around 2M blockchain users.

THiNG.FUND

Last year, I started my new journey and founded THiNG.FUND, an incubator for crypto games and arts. With strong connections with both the gaming industry and art, THiNG.FUND is exploring the new paradigms of creators’ economy with the power of Web3, bridging the mainstream world and crypto space together, and bringing values to both sides.

Art

Regarding the art side, THiNG.FUND is the first and only crypto institution that officially cooperates with top art academies in China. Last year, we collaborated with the very famous China Academy of Art, and other partners like Flow blockchain, to host a crypto artist selection program. Over 300 artists submitted more than 700 pieces of artwork, and we received over 780k votes during the public voting.

We’ve signed a couple of winners as our incubating artists and one of them is the appointed artist of the Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu, who later won a Hugo Award because of the trilogy. We helped them co-creat a new sci-fi series NFT collection, which was launched last year and remains the top-1 best-selling collection on Flow marketplace Starly.

Game

We also believe that the game is the ultimate form of art, as it combines every element of the existing art forms and with the interactivity empowered.

So on the game side, our strategy is to educate and find the best web 2 game developers with Web 3 mindsets and support them from all sides according to their needs, which include: product design, tokenomics, fundraising, partnerships, and marketing resources, and more.

We value quality much more than quantity.

Currently, THiNG.FUND is majorly incubating 2 projects:

Renas

Renas is a gamified co-creation platform for evolving Web3 IPs. By using Renas, every NFT holder could utilize their own collections and create stories together with their friends. Besides, they could get token incentives by playing, creating, and participating in the governance.

To the players, it’s a classic game, but they govern it; to the creators, it’s an IP generator that anyone can be a part of the co-creation and earn both reputation and incentives; and to the traders and collectors, it’s easier to discover the actual value of an asset by simply following the trends in the community.

Fusionist

Fusionist is another game that we incubated from the very beginning. It was built by a team of veterans from famous games worldwide, such as Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Deus Ex, FIFA, Legend of Mir, Roblox, etc.

The Fusionist gameverse has three games, a planet simulation game, a mech wargame, and a GVG starship combat game.

These would allow players of different interests to have fun and earn depending on their choices. It would separate users with different profiles to balance gold farming and gaming.

The game was by far doing great.

We have introduced them to around 20 investors. Its seed round leading investors is binance and the well-known game publisher FunPlus. We are helping them with the product, tokenomics, and funding support.

Thank you. If you are interested to learn more about us, pls feel free to add my telegram. Enjoy the party tonight!
